We are Frances Taylor Foundation – we offer a wide range of social care and support services, all aiming to work in person centred ways. We work cover Liverpool and Merseyside, Brighton and Hove, and Greater London. Today the foundation works for people with learning disabilities, and older people. Services offered include supported living, care homes, day activities, and nursing care (for older people). We support around 350 people and employee around 400 staff.

Fernley Resource Centre provides a unique and specialised day support service for adults with learning disabilities, people who have complex and multiple disabilities and associated health care needs. The Resource Centre has been purposefully designed to be vibrant, fun, and stimulating for the people we support and is located within the beautiful surroundings of the pinewoods. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for everyone who uses this service. We build on individuals' abilities in a way that gives encouragement and builds self-confidence. As a Service Manager you will:
Oversee the management of the daily operations and activities in our Service.
Undertake initial service assessments to identify the needs of the people who use the service and the support needs, to ensure needs are met and a quality service provided.
To liaise with local authority care managers, providing information on future care input (obtained from the individual care plans) submitting applications and securing appropriate funding for those services. In an increasing number of cases to propose and cost support/care to people who will be using individual/personal budgets to purchase it.
Oversee the development and maintenance of a varied, stimulating activity syllabus/programme, including activities on and off the site.
To maintain relationships with people who use the services and their representatives, either formally or on an individual basis, obtaining feedback on the standards and quality of services provided and implementing changes where necessary.
To monitor the quality standards of the services provided, including the further development of systems designed to improve quality, ensuring that continuous improvement practices are applied to the services provided.
To ensure that timely and accurate reporting is achieved where required by commissioners and regulators, including Social Services and local NHS bodies,
Ensure that the financial management of the service works within the confines of the agreed budget and business plans and ensuring that accurate records and financial information is properly maintained.
Ensure fire procedure, hygiene, risk assessment and all other health and safety statutory requirements are complied with and that incidents are reported and investigated in accordance with the Charity’s policies and the requirements of legislation.
