Pay Rate: £11.11 per hour
Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm

As part of a team, the post holder will assist with the purchase, preparation, cooking and serving of nutritionally balanced lunch time meals on a daily basis. The post holder will also have responsibility for housekeeping duties, cleaning, laundry and general cleaning of the building.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the hygiene, safety and efficient running of the kitchen and catering areas by applying the Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
- Make regular checks on food stocks, (both fresh and packaged) and order these as required in accordance with the ordering/purchasing practices.
- To support service users at meal and snack times enabling them to enjoy a good and healthy intake of food and refreshments in a socially acceptable manner. To contribute towards creating an environment that aide’s social interaction for service users.
- To be responsible for the safe and proper storage of chilled and dry food stocks, and for the proper disposal of any food on which the expiry date has been exceeded.
- Ensure legislation and regulations concerning environmental health, health and safety I across the service are, COSHH, laundry and kitchen areas are maintained.
- Act immediately upon the discovery of unsafe /unclean area or damaged appliances and utensils, and alert senior managers and ensure that items or areas are not used by anyone until made safe or replaced. Ensuring that that all areas including the general areas/ laundry /kitchen/catering areas are left clean and secure, that duty- that ovens are switched off, refrigerator doors closed etc. Check daily that the refrigerators are set at the correct temperature.
