What are the main duties?

  • You’ll work alongside and support the Registered Manager in the development and delivery of the highest quality physical and person-centred care, encompassing and embracing the holistic needs of each of our residents.
  • You’ll positively support the Registered Manager in providing leadership to the administration, care, catering, domestic, laundry and maintenance functions of the home.
  • You’ll deputise for the function of the Registered Manager during their absence, and supporting the decisions made by the Registered Manager.
  • You’ll manage the home in accordance with standards agreed by Friends of the Elderly, the Registered Manager, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line with accepted best practice.
  • You’ll work a range of shift patterns to enable positive professional relationships with residents and their relatives, the shift leaders, health care assistants, domestics and the maintenance team.
  • You’ll cover/lead shifts during the absence of shift leaders due to annual leave or sickness.

 

What skills do I need?

You will have at least 4 years’ of recent experience working with the elderly and have experience of working with and leading a team within a care setting. You will be passionate about the wellbeing of older people and have a good knowledge and understanding of current care practice and legislation with a commitment to person-centred care. You will need to be able to supervise and assist in managing the team and take the initiative so excellent communication and team building skills are required. We’ll provide you all the outstanding training and tools that you need; all we ask is a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm to encourage others to live their lives to the full.
