Teaching and Learning Practitioner
Salary: £21,000 - £22,405 after twelve months service
Location: Wandsworth, SW18 2SL
Full time, permanent – Term-time only, 39 weeks per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We have an exciting opportunity to join BeyondAutism and work with our amazing pupils at one of our two fantastic schools in Wandsworth Common and Earlsfield, Wandsworth, London.

We would like to hire experienced and trainee practitioners with a passion for making a difference to the lives of autistic children. Our Teaching and Learning Practitioners work as a member of a class team supporting on average 8 pupils per class. You will help deliver excellent teaching underpinned by Behaviour Analysis to children and young adults with autism and associated learning difficulties. You will work individually and in small groups.

You will need:

  • Passion, energy, and a genuine interest in working with children and young adults with autism and associated learning difficulties.
  • To be educated to Minimum GCSE level essential (pass in English and Maths required) or recognised childcare qualification.
  • Emotional and physical resilience to meet the challenges and demands of the role.
  • Experience of working with children and/or adults with special needs or with behaviours that challenge (desirable).
  • To be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be friendly, patient, understanding, empathic, caring and approachable.
  • To be IT literate and comfortable with using technology to record and update data.
  • A willingness to use public transport.
