What’s the role?

As a Teaching and Learning Mentor, you’ll work with a fantastic team in our Post-19 service, supporting young adults with autism in Wandsworth and out in the community. You’ll use Behaviour Analysis techniques (don’t worry, we’ll train you up!) to help them develop communication skills and prepare for adulthood.

Post-19 is an educational service designed for autistic adults aged 19-25, focusing on helping them develop functional communication, language skills, and preparing them for the next stage of life.

With a personalised curriculum tailored to each student, we provide a study program that equips them with the essential skills needed for independent or supported living, vocational training, employment, health and wellbeing, and active participation in their communities. Our goal is to support their journey into adulthood with confidence and capability.

What we offer:

· Term-time only – perfect for those who love their summers off!

· Competitive salary: £21,000 during probation, rising to £22,405 after 12 months.

· Great pension: We’ll match your contributions up to 5%.

· Career development: Extensive in-house training, with opportunities to grow into roles like Qualified Teacher, BCBA, or Therapist.

· Perks: Season ticket & bicycle loans, on-site counsellor, Perkbox discounts, Eye Care vouchers, and more!

What we’re looking for:

· Passion for working with young adults with autism.

· Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or childcare qualification).

· Resilience to handle the emotional and physical demands of the role.

· Team player with great communication skills.

· Kind, patient, and able to quickly build rapport.

· Basic IT skills (you’ll be recording and updating data).

· Willingness to use public transport.
