About the Role

As a support worker you’ll be working hands-on day in day out with the young people living in the children’s home. a typical day will be supporting the children in our care carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably and demonstratively be expected to manage, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in day-to-day planning of their lives and supporting and helping them towards taking greater control and responsibility.

To be successful in the role you’ll be patient, a good team player, and a problem solver.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• To work as part of the care team.
• To access identified developmental opportunities for children in our care. 
• To deal effectively with difficult and abusive behaviour, with knowledge of the needs of troubled children
• To partake in meetings and work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
• Effectively record daily logs, and other information and  maintain confidential records
• To maintain a home environment that is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children in our care.
• Where possible, to ensure children in our care are included in any decision-making related to the day-to-day running of the home/shifts.
• To implement management decisions in a manner that provides an empowering, positive experience for children in our care.
